Colwich Rail Crash
Friday 19 September 1986
At around 5pm when a 13-
vehicle train to Manchester
Piccadilly crossed a signal at
red. It was hit by a 12-vehicle
train to Euston at Colwich
Junction, and was travelling
between 95 to 100 MPH.
The driver of the Liverpool train,
Mr Eric Goode, was killed in the
crash and 75 of the 873
passengers on both trains
injured.
